Our Educational Workshops at the Virginia Horse Festival

Picking the Right Trailer and Tow Vehicle
Friday, 11 am-11:50 am
Virginia Horse Council Classroom

There are so many myths and old wives’ tales about trailer purchasing. This presentation will dispel the misinformation and empower trailer buyers to make the right decision for their needs. It will be relevant for both new buyers and trailer owners who are thinking of changing their trailers and/or tow vehicles.

The presentation will cover trailer floor plan, size, and features that make a trailer more functional. We will also cover specifications of given tow vehicles, as auto dealer salespeople usually don’t have that type of knowledge.

Accessories to Trick Out Your Trailer
Saturday, 1 pm-1:50 pm
Virginia Horse Council Classroom

Accessories are an important topic for both potential and existing trailer owners. Who doesn’t want to know about “toys” that will make your towing experience safer and more comfortable for your horses?

Road Trip Safety and Checklist
Sunday, 11 am-11:50 am
Virginia Horse Council Classroom

Our horses are our family. Every horseman and horsewoman can identify with the desire to haul safely, have the right equipment if there’s a problem, and prevent problems in the first place. There’s nothing more frightening than a maintenance problem that stops you cold by the side of the interstate with trucks whizzing by at more than 75 MPH.

We’ll discuss the essentials of road safety while hauling horses, including a checklist you can use for peace of mind on the road.
